Terms of Service — RUNMON®

1 — Purpose

These Terms govern your use of RUNMON (the "Service"), a social running application, and set out the rights, obligations, and responsibilities of users and of the Service.

2 — Definitions

Service: the RUNMON mobile application and its related web pages
User: a person who agrees to these Terms and uses the Service
Channel: a real-time voice running space a user creates or joins
Run record: distance, duration, pace, route, heart rate and similar data measured by your device during a running session
Content: nickname, profile, channel title, voice, run records, and any other information you enter into or transmit through the Service

3 — Changes to These Terms

These Terms take effect when posted in the Service. We may amend them within the limits of applicable law. We will state the effective date and the reason for the change and give notice in-app or by email before the change takes effect. For changes that are unfavorable to users, we will give notice a reasonable period in advance.

If you do not agree to the amended Terms, you may stop using the Service and delete your account.

4 — Accounts

Accounts are created only through Google or Apple sign-in. We do not collect a separate password.
You must be at least 14 years old, or older if the law of your country of residence sets a higher minimum age.
One account per person. You may not transfer or lend your account to another person.
You are responsible for the security of the linked social account. Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorized use.

5 — What the Service Provides

Creating and joining real-time voice channels, and speaking with participants
Measuring distance, pace, route, and heart rate during a run, and voice coaching
Viewing, storing, and generating share images of run records
Other features we may offer from time to time

Specific features may be added or changed through app updates.

6 — Your Obligations

You must not:

Insult, harass, threaten, or sexually harass others, or use hate speech
Disclose another person's personal information without consent, or impersonate anyone
Send repeated advertising, promotion, or spam
Distribute unlawful information or encourage criminal activity
Interfere with the operation of the Service (automation tools, reverse engineering, unauthorized access)
Manipulate or falsify run records or participation history

Detailed standards of conduct in channels are set out in the Community Guidelines, which form part of these Terms.

7 — Voice Channels

Voice is not recorded. While you are in a channel, your audio is delivered to participants in real time and is not recorded or stored on any server, including ours. As a result, we cannot retrieve past conversations after the fact.

You can report or block other participants in a channel.
A channel host may adjust participants' speaking permissions or remove a participant from their channel.
When we receive a report, we review it based on the information available (report reason, account history, and similar). If a violation is confirmed, we may issue a warning, restrict features, or suspend the account.
You are responsible for what you say in a channel.

8 — Run Data and Server Backup

Run records are stored on your device by default.
Server backup is optional. Run records are uploaded to our servers only if you separately consent in the app, so that they can be restored when you change devices.
You may withdraw that consent at any time in the app's settings.
Details of how personal data is collected, used, and retained are set out in the Privacy Policy.

9 — Content Rights

You retain the rights to the Content you enter or transmit. We may store, display, and transmit that Content to the extent necessary to provide, operate, and improve the Service. Any use beyond that scope requires your separate prior consent.

Rights in the software, design, and trademarks provided by the Service belong to us or to the respective rights holders. You may not copy, distribute, or modify them without authorization.

10 — Changes to and Suspension of the Service

We may change or discontinue all or part of the Service for operational or technical reasons. Where advance notice is practicable we will give it in-app or by email; where it is not — for example system failures or force majeure — we will give notice afterwards.

11 — Restrictions and Termination

You may delete your account at any time via Settings → Delete Account in the app.
If you breach these Terms or the Community Guidelines, we may issue a warning, restrict features, temporarily suspend, or terminate your account. We will explain the reason and how to appeal.
How your data is handled and retained after deletion is governed by the Privacy Policy.

12 — Safety Notice

Stay aware of your surroundings while running. The Service provides voice calls and voice coaching during a run, which can mask ambient sound. Around vehicles, cyclists, and pedestrians, lower the volume and follow traffic laws and local rules. Choosing a safe route and watching your surroundings remain your responsibility.

Not for medical use. Heart rate, distance, pace, calories, and similar values shown by the Service are reference estimates based on device sensors. They are not a medical device and are not intended to diagnose, treat, or prevent any disease. If you have a health condition or are unsure whether exercise is safe for you, consult a healthcare professional.

13 — Paid Services

The Service is currently free. If we introduce paid services, we will disclose pricing, payment methods, withdrawal, and refund terms in advance and obtain your consent before they apply. Where payment is made in-app, the relevant app store's policies also apply to payment and refunds.

14 — Limitation of Liability

We are not liable for damage arising from causes beyond our reasonable control, such as natural disasters, network failures, or defects in your device.
We do not intervene in or guarantee disputes between users, statements made by users in channels, or Content posted by users. We do act on reports as described in Section 7.
Nothing in this section excludes liability for our willful misconduct or gross negligence, or any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

15 — Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. If a dispute arises, the parties will first seek to resolve it in good faith; failing that, either party may bring an action before the court having jurisdiction under the Korean Civil Procedure Act.

If you are a consumer resident outside the Republic of Korea, this section does not limit any mandatory rights granted to you by the law of your place of residence.
